The Silvetips will host their annual Green & White Scrimmage on Friday, September 3rd at Cliff McNabb Arena in Nanaimo. Cliff McNabb is at Beban Park and admission is free. The teams will be divided into 2 evenly matched teams and compete in a scrimmage, before taking on South Island in scheduled exhibition games in a home-and-home series with the South Island Thunderbirds.
The Green & White Scrimmage is 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday.
Home Exhibition Game #1 will be 2:45 pm at NIC. Road Exhibition Game #2 will be at 3:00 pm at Naden Arena in Esquimalt.
We will try to get every remaining player in to an exhibition game, but numbers and Friday performance could change that.
We are looking forward to players coming back for that weekend with a strong idea of what is expected to be able to play BC MML and Silvertip hockey.
Thanks for following (and according to our site host, that pop-up glitch should be repaired within the next day ... its irritating me too.)

The Silvertips Evaluation Camp went very well this weekend, with several players earning committed spots for the season and most players being asked to continue the process by being asked to return for the Exhibition Season, starting on September 3rd in Nanaimo. The Eval Camp weekend was extremely hard hitting and fast paced with lots of nice goals and big hits. Players settled in as the weekend wore on and some of the younger (1995 born) players found their legs and stride by Sunday. Because of the development of so many players over the weekend, the Silvertips staff decided it would be best for the club to not release too many players, instead opting to schedule an intra-squad game in a month, for players to use the feedback and experience derived from this weekend to prepare to perform again. The spots on the team are tightly contested and the returning players did a great job of demonstrating what it takes to play BC MML hockey. Its actually quite simple. The player needs to have skill, speed, strength, courage and passion. As a person, the player must have Respect, Integrity and Be Responsible. The players that attended camp understand what is expected of them, on and off the ice. If they are unsure they know how to find out. ASK!
The Silvertips Staff would like to thank everyone for their dedication this weekend. Several former Tips were in attendance, coaching the intra-squad games and encouraging the new recruits. Also, a special thank to the Evaluators and Arena Staff for the their cooperation, patience and hard work!
Please continue to follow the Silvertips site for updates and announcements. The work continues for the staff as we look to find billets and sponsors for the program. Please get in touch with me if you would like to help.
Best of luck to the remaining players and congratulations to the committed players.
Kindest Regards,
Steve

Check out the newest additions to the Silvertips website...
The Silvertips Calendar lays out the season plan, practices, games, team functions team meetings and travel. This calendar can be edited as we go, but gives everyone a pretty good idea of the commitment and time management skills necessary to play for the North Island Silvertips.
The Silvertips Alumni page is designed to include former Silvertips in the future of the program. For example, this year, several alumni are attending the MML Evaluation Camp as group leaders for the camp. They are also participating in the goaltender sessions as shooters and leaders for the new players. The players on the Alumni page are playing, or have played Junior A or WHL hockey. If I've missed someone, please just send me an email to prompt me, and I will add them right away.
Also, check out the Silvertips Message Board. This is a place for fans and followers to ask questions, support the team and share some thoughts. Please keep it positive!
