In the third meeting of the season between the Tips and Ice, the Tips got off to a great first period with four unanswered goals. Garrett Dunlop scored the first two with two assists from Jordan Levesque and one each from Kyle MacDonald and Chase Lang. The third goal was scored by Derian Hamilton with assists from Hobin Zinck and Liam Shaw. The fourth goal was scored by Kyle MacDonald and assisted by Garrett Dunlop and Chase Lang.
The Tips began the second period on the power play and within 21 seconds Jordan Levesque scored, assisted by Garrett Dunlop (with his fourth point of the game), and Dayton Boutilier. The Ice answered with two goals in a row in the second, the second goal was a penalty shot.
Both teams scored two goals in the third period. The Tips 6th was a short handed goal scored by Chase Lang with assists to Will McNamara and Jordan Levesque. The seventh and final Tips goal was scored by Jackson Robinson and assisted by Ryan Coghlan and Shane Dial. The game ended 7-4 with Michael Herringer getting the win in net. The Tips had 71 penalty minutes which included 3 Check From Behind penalties. The Ice had just 3 minor penalties.
Sunday's game was a 7-1 romp for the Tips. The team managed to only get 7 minor penalties a significant decrease from Saturday's game while the Home team had only 4 minor penalties. Derian Hamilton began the scoring for the Tips midway through the first on the power play with assists from Quentin McShane and Shane Dial. The second goal came 5 minutes later from Chase Lang and assisted by Garrett Dunlop and Kyle MacDonald. The Tips scored two more goals early in the second to make it 4-0. Goals were from Garrett Dunlop and assisted by Chase Lang and Jordan Levesque and then Chase Lang from Garrett and Ryan Coghlan on the Power Play.
The Ice scored the next goal to make it 4-1 while the Tips were serving a penalty. One more goal for the Tips, to end the second period, was scored, to complete his hat trick, by Chase Lang and assisted by Garrett Dunlop and Jordan Levesque. Third period goals by Shane Dial from Corey Renwick and Kyle MacDonald and Hobin Zinck from Shane Dial and Nic Gomerich made it a 7-1 score. Riley Medves had the win in net.
